PALOMA NICOLE DIAZ

PALOMA NICOLE DIAZ IS A DALLAS BASED ILLUSTRATOR. SHE RECEIVED A BFA IN ILLUSTRATION AS WELL AS A MINOR IN THE HISTORY OF ART AND VISUAL CULTURE FROM CALIFORNIA COLLEGE OF THE ARTS.

AS A FIRST GENERATION MEXICAN-AMERICAN, DIAZ STRIVES TO INTENTIONALLY REPRESENT HER HERITAGE THROUGH HER ART MAKING PRACTICES. HER WORK IS DISTINGUISHED BY A UNIQUE BLEND OF MEXICAN FOLK ART AND TRADITIONAL WOOD ENGRAVING. HER WORK IS CENTERED AROUND EARTHY COLORS WITH POPS OF NEON, SPIRITUALITY, FEMININITY, AND THE LATINX EXPERIENCE. SHE CREATES PURPOSEFUL AND AESTHETICALLY PLEASING VISUALS IN HOPES OF EMBRACING THE RICH IDENTITY OF MARGINALIZED GROUPS.

YOU'LL OFTEN FIND HER EXPLORING NEW PLACES, VISITING LOCAL COFFEE SHOPS, OR (RE)DECORATING HER HOME.

SELECTED CLIENTS: REI, BANDANA BANDITS, COLOR A LA MEXICANA, COSA BUENA, CALIFORNIA COLLEGE OF THE ARTS
